Founded in 1984 by G. David Glissmeyer (with 3K borrowed off his credit card), ProTel NetWorks has grown into a well-known provider of high quality and dependable business phone systems.
Headquartered in Salt Lake City at the same location since its inception, ProTel has over 30 employees between Salt Lake and the recently established Southern Utah office in St. George.
As one of Inter-Tel's oldest and largest dealers, ProTel has enjoyed great success using Inter-Tel's flexible communications platforms (both VoIP and digital) to help customers meet their needs.
ProTel provides pure VoIP solutions using the latest technology available. ProTel was an early adopter of CT (Computer Telephony), and was writing custom software programs to client specifications for GUI phones, exotic paging systems, and even IVR (Interactive Voice Response) systems that allow callers to interact with client databases to do business, years before any other company in Utah. ProTel is still one of the few independent business phone system providers that employs its own software coders and designers to bring affordable custom solutions to Inter-Tel, Mitel, and Samsung users.
One of the hallmarks of the company has been the high level of easily accessible customer service and unflinching technical support. Over the years ProTel has invested heavily in technical training, tools and spare parts so that a customer never has to hear "our one expert on the product is out" or "we have to airfreight your spare power supply in, it will be here tomorrow." ProTel has a higher ratio of support staff to installed telephones than any of its competitors. More staff, more trucks on the road and more spare parts means less trouble and downtime for our customers.
Recent developments include ProTel's new partnership with Samsung business phone systems and Inter-Tel's merger with Mitel that have brought new products and customer problem-solving solutions into our overall portfolio of services.
Samsung gives smaller customers a very affordable entry point to a feature-rich and dependable VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) business phone system. Samsung systems can be networked together for customers with multiple sites and also feature an optional integrated 802.11 wireless interface for not only wireless phones but wireless data service as well.
The merger of Mitel and Inter-Tel (the combined company will be known as Mitel) will open a whole new world of larger opportunities for ProTel NetWorks. Inter-Tel's CS-5000 VoIP centric system will now be enhanced with the addition of being able to add feature-rich Mitel endpoints (phones) to the system. The VoIP and networking capabilities of the CS 5000 are well known and second to none; now it will only get better. In addition, the Mitel 3300 IP business phone system will scale to very large customers needing thousands of phones and/or high powered contact and call centers.
Mitel is also a very active partner with Microsoft and Sun Microsystems. Mitel has developed a very tight and robust integration to Microsoft's Business Communications Server which leverages the collaboration and presence management powers of Microsoft Outlook that will rival a VoIP system from any manufacturer. Mitel has also been helping Sun to provide converged voice and data applications in a number of different enterprise environments.
As the ever changing landscape of voice communications continues to evolve, ProTel customers can rest easy knowing that ProTel will continue to push the envelope by working with our manufacturers and our own software engineers to bring cutting-edge, yet dependable solutions, to help and serve their customers. VoIP, Contact Centers, Web Conferencing and Collaration tools, Presence Management Tools or just plain old voice mail and phones, ProTel NetWorks is the smart and safe choice for any business looking to actively increase their revenue and expertly manage their operational costs.
